This course includes 20 hours of introduction to  applied behavior analysis autism . Instruction is provided in-person by Board Certified Behavior Analysts with over 15 years of clinical and training experience. The focus of this instruction will be on why problem behaviors emerge and how to respond effectively; tools and strategies to prevent problem behaviors; teaching techniques that promote the acquisition of adaptive skills with both individuals and groups; the importance of evidence-based interventions and measurements; and the importance of reinforcement schedules and how to use reinforcements properly. A small class instructor to participant ratio will allow participants to receive individualized attention and ongoing feedback. This course is ideal for individuals working as Behavior Assistants needing to fulfills APD’s training requirements, as well as direct support professionals, teachers, therapists, or parents and relatives seeking additional information and training
